The brain's blood supplyIn order to function properly, brain cells (neurons) depend on an uninterrupted supply of blood that contains vital nutrients and oxygen. The brain is supplied by 2 pairs of arteries: 2 carotid arteries in the front of the neck and 2 vertebral arteries in the back of the neck.
