Exercise
Bones respond to exercise in healthy ways, just like the rest of the body. So-called "weight-bearing" exercises, such as regular vigorous walking, help improve bone strength and density. However, a person with osteoporosis should avoid forms of exercise that put sudden or excessive strain on bones. A doctor-recommended program of exercise is best.
