Effects of Osteoporosis

Fractures
When osteoporosis is severe, spinal "crush" fractures may occur, shortening body height and stooping the curvature of the back. This happens when the body's weight becomes too great a burden for weakened bones to support. Another common problem associated with osteoporosis is hip fracture (broken hip), usually linked to falling.
