Self Care
There are several steps you can take to improve your sense of physical and emotional well-being, whether or not you decide to take medication for your anemia. Consider these:
  • Take naps whenever you begin to tire.
  • Lessen and prioritize your activities. Ask family and friends for help when you need it.
  • Eat, even if you're tired or don't feel so great.
  • Drink lots of fluids.
  • Exercise a little, whenever you can. Even a short stroll can help you feel more energized.
  • Rise slowly to avoid dizziness.
  • Attend religious or spiritual services.
  • Talk with a counselor, clergy, or other confidant.
