GHI/HIP Affiliation
In November 2006, Group Health Incorporated (GHI) and Health Insurance Plan of Greater New York (HIP) were affiliated when EmblemHealth Inc. became the parent organization of both entities. Since then, GHI and HIP have submitted a plan to combine the two not-for-profit health benefits providers into a single for-profit publicly traded company.
