Programs

  • PACE (People with Arthritis Can Exercise) - an eight-week program, conducted in weekly one-hour sessions that teaches participants how to do gentle exercises. The program is proven to reduce pain, increase joint flexibility and range of motion, improve overall stamina and maintain muscular strength. (Offered in English and Spanish in select areas).
  • ASHC (Arthritis Self-Help Course) - a six-week educational program, in weekly two-hour sessions, designed to teach people with arthritis to take an active role in managing their arthritis. (Offered in English and Spanish in select areas.)
  • Tai Chi - an eight-week exercise program, led by a certified instructor in weekly one-hour sessions. This program teaches gentle, agile steps and movements to reduce pain and stiffness, improve balance, enhance mobility and improve breathing and relaxation. (Offered in English only.)

These programs can help you manage your condition without interfering with medical care provided by your physician. In addition, they provide a valuable opportunity for participants to meet and share their experiences in managing arthritis.
