Carl E. Flemister Annual Symposium on Mind/Body Medicine, Spirituality and Health

To make available to our providers the most recent scientific research on the biology and physiology of belief, and to consider ways to make this relevant in their practices, leading experts on spirituality and health are invited to speak at the annual symposium.

The symposia reflect the growing interest in integrating spirituality into the practice of medicine - almost all of the nation's medical schools now require courses on this topic, and patients routinely say they would like physicians to understand their perspectives on spirituality.

The Reverend Dr. Carl E. Flemister was an ardent advocate for mind/body medicine throughout his career at HIP. His pioneering work in the integration of spirituality, belief and health contributed to HIP's reputation as a national leader in this field. The Company paid tribute to him by naming the annual symposium in his honor.

Each symposium is a CME-accredited event that is traditionally co-sponsored with the New York Academy of Medicine and is by invitation only.

Information on our past speakers is available.
