HIP Health Plan of New York Maintenance Drugs

The Maintenance Drug List has been approved for the following common disease states and drug categories. Drugs used in these disease states or included in these drug categories can be dispensed for up to a 90-day supply if so prescribed. Disposable insulin needles and syringes may be dispensed in the full box of 100, even if it represents a 100-day supply. All medications are subject to member's rider benefit.

Patients initiated on these drugs will first receive two 30-day supplies of the maintenance medication before the patient can receive up to the 90-day supply. This will help to determine the therapeutic success or clinical outcome of the selected medication while promoting cost savings by reducing waste if the selected medication is not successful for you.

Please note, not all drug classes are included on the Maintenance Drug List.
